A Day in the Life of Jesus
In a world where countless voices compete for our attention and everyone claims to be an authority, how do we recognize true authority when we encounter it? As we study a portion of the Gospel of Mark, we'll step into a remarkable day in the life of Jesus Christ. But what set Jesus apart from the other religious leaders of His day? It wasn't merely what He taught but the unmistakable authority with which He taught it. Join Tom Pennington from the Gospel of Mark as he helps us understand A Day in the Life of Jesus.

All the World's a Stage
The ideas that shape our culture are often far older than we realize. From the ancient philosopher Protagoras' declaration that "man is the measure of all things" to today's widespread belief that life is ultimately about personal fulfillment, the influence of human-centered thinking remains powerful. Yet Scripture presents a radically different perspective: we are not the center of the universe—God is. Join Tom Pennington as he explores Ephesians 2 to help us see that in God's plan of redemption, All the World's a Stage.

War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict
Historians tell us that out of thousands of years of recorded history, humanity has experienced only a few centuries of peace—and the Bible reveals why: the deepest wars are not merely fought between nations but within the human heart of every person. Today, as we begin exploring James 4, Pastor Tom helps us discover that the source of our quarrels, arguments, and broken relationships is far closer than we often realize. Rather than pointing the finger at others, the Bible challenges us to examine ourselves and uncover the sinful desires that fuel conflict in every area of life. Join Tom Pennington from James 4 as we consider the theme of War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict.

For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God
In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus addresses the three great pillars of Jewish piety: giving, praying, and fasting. But He begins with a staggering warning against the sin of hypocrisy—practicing our righteousness before men to be noticed by them. Our Lord teaches that those who perform for the applause of the crowd have no reward from their Father in heaven. Join Tom Pennington as he considers the Sermon on the Mount and a Christian perspective on giving—For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God.

The Person of Christ
The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the center of God’s redemptive plan. The Old Testament proclaimed that the Messiah would come into this world to save His people from their sins. The New Testament gospels teach that the Messiah has come, our Lord Jesus Christ, and describe his life. And the rest of the New Testament teaches why he came and what that means for every believer. And finally, the book of Revelation teaches that He will come back for His people and establish a kingdom. If the Bible is centered on Jesus, then it is critical that we come to know Him from the Scripture. Join Tom Pennington as he surveys the Bible to inform our minds and hearts about The Person of Christ.

What Child Is This?
From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible speaks clearly about the person of our Lord Jesus Christ and the work He accomplished in His life, death, and resurrection. But 700 years before He came into the world, the prophet Isaiah foretold that Jesus would accomplish redemption and bring about true restoration. In particular, Jesus Christ would bring salvation to the Jews and Gentiles, and He would bring universal blessings to the entire world. But how does Isaiah describe this person, and what does it mean for us as Christians today? Join Tom Pennington as he walks through one of the great prophecies of the Old Testament, answering the key question: What Child Is This?

Jesus on Divorce
In Mark 10, our Lord Jesus Christ unfolds the divine mind about the controversial topic of divorce and remarriage. Unfortunately, today divorce has become commonplace among unbelievers and, sadly, even professing Christians have joined the world in their acceptance and practice of divorce. But as Christians, in every issue—including divorce—we must first ask, “What does the Bible say?” What the Bible teaches about divorce must be our view also, and we must teach and respond accordingly. Join Tom Pennington as he explains from Mark 10 the teaching of Jesus on Divorce.

Old Testament Survey
Unfortunately, today, many professing Christians rarely read or study the Old Testament. Some, perhaps, even neglect it, assuming it does not play a vital role in the Christian life. But because all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, Christians must immerse themselves in the Old Testament. It is the beginning of God's great plan to redeem a people by His Son, for His Son, to His own glory. Join Tom Pennington on this walk through an Old Testament Survey.

Do You Only Love Those Who Love You?
In Jesus’ greatest sermon, the Sermon on the Mount, He teaches that we, as Christians, must love both our friends and our enemies. Said another way, we have a duty to love those who love us and to love those who hate us. But such a clear-cut truth was heavily distorted by the Pharisees during Jesus’ day. So Jesus sets out to correct their faulty teaching in order to show His true disciples the way in which they should respond to all people. Join Tom Pennington as he will help you answer from Scripture a crucial question: Do You Love Only Love Those Who Love you?.

The Seventh Seal and the First Six Trumpets
At an appointed time during the seven-year tribulation period described in the book of Revelation, the eye of the hurricane of God's wrath will pass over the throne room of heaven and there will be a 30-minute calm in the storm. As the events of Revelation 8–9 continue to unfold, the Lamb, Jesus Christ, breaks the seventh seal, initiating the seven trumpet judgments followed by seven bowl judgments. These judgments highlight the pervasiveness of Satan, demons, and the unbelieving world. Join Tom Pennington as he explains the events recorded in Revelation 8–9: The Seventh Seal & the First Six Trumpets.
