A Day in the Life of Jesus
In a world where countless voices compete for our attention and everyone claims to be an authority, how do we recognize true authority when we encounter it? As we study a portion of the Gospel of Mark, we'll step into a remarkable day in the life of Jesus Christ. But what set Jesus apart from the other religious leaders of His day? It wasn't merely what He taught but the unmistakable authority with which He taught it. Join Tom Pennington from the Gospel of Mark as he helps us understand A Day in the Life of Jesus.

All the World's a Stage
The ideas that shape our culture are often far older than we realize. From the ancient philosopher Protagoras' declaration that "man is the measure of all things" to today's widespread belief that life is ultimately about personal fulfillment, the influence of human-centered thinking remains powerful. Yet Scripture presents a radically different perspective: we are not the center of the universe—God is. Join Tom Pennington as he explores Ephesians 2 to help us see that in God's plan of redemption, All the World's a Stage.

War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict
Historians tell us that out of thousands of years of recorded history, humanity has experienced only a few centuries of peace—and the Bible reveals why: the deepest wars are not merely fought between nations but within the human heart of every person. Today, as we begin exploring James 4, Pastor Tom helps us discover that the source of our quarrels, arguments, and broken relationships is far closer than we often realize. Rather than pointing the finger at others, the Bible challenges us to examine ourselves and uncover the sinful desires that fuel conflict in every area of life. Join Tom Pennington from James 4 as we consider the theme of War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict.

For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God
In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus addresses the three great pillars of Jewish piety: giving, praying, and fasting. But He begins with a staggering warning against the sin of hypocrisy—practicing our righteousness before men to be noticed by them. Our Lord teaches that those who perform for the applause of the crowd have no reward from their Father in heaven. Join Tom Pennington as he considers the Sermon on the Mount and a Christian perspective on giving—For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God.

You Must Be Born Again
In John chapter 3, what did Jesus mean when He told Nicodemus that he must be born again? The answer to this question is no small matter, but rather it has eternal significance. Our Lord made it clear to Nicodemus that salvation is impossible apart from a powerful work of the Holy Spirit. In other words, man cannot save himself; instead, the Holy Spirit has to regenerate him, that is, give him new spiritual life. Join Tom Pennington as he helps us understand four crucial details about regeneration and why You Must Be Born Again.

Dead and Buried
The Christian faith promotes the good news of Jesus Christ: that He came into this world to rescue sinners from sin and death. This act of redemption was accomplished by Christ on the cross. But a crucial detail about His sacrificial death on the cross is the fact that He died and was then buried. As Christians, our theology and understanding of the cross must include the fact that Jesus really did die. Because if He did not die, then His resurrection was a farce. Join Tom Pennington from the gospel of Mark as he explains that Jesus was Dead and Buried.

A Preview of Jesus' Victory
The Book of Revelation describes the future events surrounding the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven to earth. And when He returns, He will establish a literal 1,000-year kingdom in which He will reign and rule on this earth. But in Revelation 14, the chapter we will study together in this series, the apostle John provides a powerful preview of Jesus' final victory, describing the eternal defeat of His enemies and the eternal reward of all of His followers. Join Tom Pennington as he explains Revelation 14 and gives A Preview of Jesus' Victory.

God's Wrath Revealed and Man's Shocking Response
The theme that the apostle Paul introduces in Romans 1:18 and continues through the rest of the chapter is certainly an unpopular one in the 21st century. And it is the wrath of God. Some deny the truthfulness and integrity of Scripture, so they outright reject the idea of the wrath of God. Others believe there is no way a loving God could act in such a way. And there are those who simply downplay and ignore the wrath of God, like it doesn’t even exist. But we, as Christians, must always ask: What does the Bible say? In this series, Pastor Tom gives an in-depth explanation of God and His wrath and how all mankind knows God yet, shockingly, responds by suppressing that truth. Join Tom Pennington as he explains from Romans 1 God's Wrath Revealed and Man's Shocking Response.

Navigating Christian Liberty
In every age, Christians have to make decisions about issues and topics that the Bible either doesn't mention at all or that, if it does, are not entirely definitive. For example, the style of worship music; drinking alcoholic beverages; school and education; parenting philosophies; and entertainment choices. In these types of situations, how are Christians supposed to conduct themselves, even if there is disagreement with other church members and other Christians? Thankfully, the Bible lays out a series of biblical principles to help Christians navigate these liberties. Join Tom Pennington from the book of Romans as he equips believers in Navigating Christian Liberty.

Bible Study for Every Christian
There are several reasons why many professing Christians spend little time reading and studying the Bible. But more often than not, one of the main reasons is because people don’t know how. In other words, they don’t have a practical process in place to read, study, and meditate on God’s Word. But for us as Christians, just as food is critical for the health of the body, spiritual food is all the more critical for your spiritual health. In this series, Pastor Tom works through a clear and simple process to understand Scripture and further to know God the Father and His blessed Son, Jesus Christ: Bible Study for Every Christian.
