A Day in the Life of Jesus
In a world where countless voices compete for our attention and everyone claims to be an authority, how do we recognize true authority when we encounter it? As we study a portion of the Gospel of Mark, we'll step into a remarkable day in the life of Jesus Christ. But what set Jesus apart from the other religious leaders of His day? It wasn't merely what He taught but the unmistakable authority with which He taught it. Join Tom Pennington from the Gospel of Mark as he helps us understand A Day in the Life of Jesus.

All the World's a Stage
The ideas that shape our culture are often far older than we realize. From the ancient philosopher Protagoras' declaration that "man is the measure of all things" to today's widespread belief that life is ultimately about personal fulfillment, the influence of human-centered thinking remains powerful. Yet Scripture presents a radically different perspective: we are not the center of the universe—God is. Join Tom Pennington as he explores Ephesians 2 to help us see that in God's plan of redemption, All the World's a Stage.

War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict
Historians tell us that out of thousands of years of recorded history, humanity has experienced only a few centuries of peace—and the Bible reveals why: the deepest wars are not merely fought between nations but within the human heart of every person. Today, as we begin exploring James 4, Pastor Tom helps us discover that the source of our quarrels, arguments, and broken relationships is far closer than we often realize. Rather than pointing the finger at others, the Bible challenges us to examine ourselves and uncover the sinful desires that fuel conflict in every area of life. Join Tom Pennington from James 4 as we consider the theme of War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict.

For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God
In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus addresses the three great pillars of Jewish piety: giving, praying, and fasting. But He begins with a staggering warning against the sin of hypocrisy—practicing our righteousness before men to be noticed by them. Our Lord teaches that those who perform for the applause of the crowd have no reward from their Father in heaven. Join Tom Pennington as he considers the Sermon on the Mount and a Christian perspective on giving—For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God.

A Vision of the Exalted Christ
Christians often need to be reminded that the Lord Jesus Christ is still reigning on His throne. Furthermore, believers must cling to the reality that Christ has not abandoned His people or His promises. In the book of Revelation, the apostle John is given a unique vision that captures this fundamental reality. It is not a vision of our Lord as He appeared on the earth in His humiliation. Rather, this vision reveals Jesus as the glorified, exalted Christ who is seated at the right hand of God the Father. From Revelation 1:9–20, Tom Pennington explains A Vision of the Exalted Christ.

God's Great Secret
What is the greatest secret to success in this life? Various secularists throughout the years have offered many answers to this age-old question, yet all of them miss the mark. Biblically speaking, there is a cosmic, universal secret that affects all of time and eternity. Not only that, it affects every human on this planet. In other words, your life will only be what you were created to be if your life is in line with this great secret. But what is this secret? Join Tom Pennington as he opens up the Scriptures to Ephesians 3 in order to explain God's Great Secret.

The Eternal State: I Saw a New Heaven and a New Earth
Many Christians have flawed views of what heaven is really like. Most people's view of heaven comes complete with halos, wings, floating around on clouds, and playing harps for eternity. There is another confusion that needs to be addressed as well: most Christians think we will live in heaven as it is described in Revelation 4–5. However, that is not true either. Join Tom Pennington as he describes and clarifies, from Revelation 21–22, The Eternal State: I Saw a New Heaven and a New Earth.

The Sabbath & the Heart of God
The Pharisees took great care in doing the minor things of the law and very much neglected the weightier ones. Their system of values was completely skewed and lacked any sort of biblical compass. In response to such dishonoring leadership from Pharisees and other leaders, Jesus presented a series of indictments to confront such hypocrisy. From Mark 2:23–3:6, Tom Pennington explains a proper understanding the law with an emphasis on The Sabbath and the Heart of God.

Not Even One!
Romans chapter three paints a devastating portrait of fallen mankind. In great detail the apostle Paul describes man as radically depraved, to the point that man desires his own sin rather than God. Because man's sin violates God's holy law, man lacks personal righteousness before Him. Nowhere is this idea better described than in Romans 3:9–20. Join Tom Pennington as he explains from the book of Romans how there are no good people on this earth, Not Even One!

The Birth Announcement of God's Son
The Gospel of Luke records a quiet, simplistic account of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Instead of experiencing a royal birth (because He was a King), He was born in a cave used for sheltering and feeding animals. Rather than an entourage of witnesses representing the great and the influential people of the nation, only Joseph and Mary, His poor and obscure parents, were there to witness the actual event. However, it was not God's plan for Jesus' birth to remain in such obscurity. From Luke 2:8–20, Tom Pennington explains The Birth Announcement of God's Son.
