A Day in the Life of Jesus
In a world where countless voices compete for our attention and everyone claims to be an authority, how do we recognize true authority when we encounter it? As we study a portion of the Gospel of Mark, we'll step into a remarkable day in the life of Jesus Christ. But what set Jesus apart from the other religious leaders of His day? It wasn't merely what He taught but the unmistakable authority with which He taught it. Join Tom Pennington from the Gospel of Mark as he helps us understand A Day in the Life of Jesus.

All the World's a Stage
The ideas that shape our culture are often far older than we realize. From the ancient philosopher Protagoras' declaration that "man is the measure of all things" to today's widespread belief that life is ultimately about personal fulfillment, the influence of human-centered thinking remains powerful. Yet Scripture presents a radically different perspective: we are not the center of the universe—God is. Join Tom Pennington as he explores Ephesians 2 to help us see that in God's plan of redemption, All the World's a Stage.

War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict
Historians tell us that out of thousands of years of recorded history, humanity has experienced only a few centuries of peace—and the Bible reveals why: the deepest wars are not merely fought between nations but within the human heart of every person. Today, as we begin exploring James 4, Pastor Tom helps us discover that the source of our quarrels, arguments, and broken relationships is far closer than we often realize. Rather than pointing the finger at others, the Bible challenges us to examine ourselves and uncover the sinful desires that fuel conflict in every area of life. Join Tom Pennington from James 4 as we consider the theme of War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict.

For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God
In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus addresses the three great pillars of Jewish piety: giving, praying, and fasting. But He begins with a staggering warning against the sin of hypocrisy—practicing our righteousness before men to be noticed by them. Our Lord teaches that those who perform for the applause of the crowd have no reward from their Father in heaven. Join Tom Pennington as he considers the Sermon on the Mount and a Christian perspective on giving—For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God.

Lord, Teach Us to Pray
In the Sermon on the Mount, our Lord Jesus Christ gave a remarkable prayer, intended for His followers to use both privately and corporately. More than just words to recite, Jesus provided a model and pattern of prayer that every believer should follow. In what is commonly known as The Lord's Prayer, Jesus gives six petitions that every Christian should pray on a regular basis. They outline the kinds of requests that all Christians must bring to God. Join Tom Pennington as he explains Jesus' prayer and a simple request that every Christian must offer: Lord, Teach us to Pray.

The Future According to Jesus
Both the unbelieving world and the Christian community love to speculate about the future. Even during Jesus' time His disciples had a keen interest in future events. In fact, it was their concern about the future that prompted Jesus to give a lengthy sermon commonly known as The Olivet Discourse. Here, Jesus gives a detailed prophecy about the future. From Mark 13:3–37, Tom Pennington gives a detailed explanation of The Future According to Jesus.

Trending vs. Truth
Popular views on various moral issues are currently trending in our culture: gender, sexuality, homosexuality, cancel culture, Critical Race Theory, Social Justice, and Christian Nationalism, among others. Much of what is being taught about these issues directly contradicts the truth of God's Word. In an age where truth is being distorted at every corner, Christians need to be armed with the truth of God's Word. Join Tom Pennington as he uses Scripture to equip Christians for the church's most recent battle: Trending vs. Truth.

Three Hallmarks of a Biblical Church Member
Sadly, there are many Christians today that would not be considered biblical church members. Unfortunately, most Christians think about the church like they think about a local restaurant—tastes, preferences, and the satisfaction of the customer are all that matters. This is, however, vastly different from what the Scripture actually teaches about being a biblical church member. So, what does the Bible say about how believers should conduct themselves in the local church? Join Tom Pennington as he uses Scripture to develop Three Hallmarks of a Biblical Church Member.

The Seven Churches of Revelation
In the opening chapters of the book of Revelation, the apostle John writes seven letters to seven churches in Asia Minor. These were real churches that existed in the first century, and they were also representative of other churches that existed then. In God's providence, they are equally representative of similar churches today. What can we learn from these first-century churches? Join Tom Pennington as he explains our Lord Jesus Christ's assessment of each of The Seven Churches of Revelation.

The True and Better Adam
How can a holy God treat Christians as if we had lived the perfect life that Jesus Christ lived? In addition, how can a just God treat Christians as if we had died for our own sins, when Christ actually died for them? In Romans 5:12–21, the apostle Paul answers such questions. He goes on to explain how Jesus Christ can secure our justification because God appointed Him as our representative, just as He did Adam in the garden of Eden. Join Tom Pennington as he explains why the Scripture teaches that Jesus Christ is The True and Better Adam.
