A Day in the Life of Jesus
In a world where countless voices compete for our attention and everyone claims to be an authority, how do we recognize true authority when we encounter it? As we study a portion of the Gospel of Mark, we'll step into a remarkable day in the life of Jesus Christ. But what set Jesus apart from the other religious leaders of His day? It wasn't merely what He taught but the unmistakable authority with which He taught it. Join Tom Pennington from the Gospel of Mark as he helps us understand A Day in the Life of Jesus.

All the World's a Stage
The ideas that shape our culture are often far older than we realize. From the ancient philosopher Protagoras' declaration that "man is the measure of all things" to today's widespread belief that life is ultimately about personal fulfillment, the influence of human-centered thinking remains powerful. Yet Scripture presents a radically different perspective: we are not the center of the universe—God is. Join Tom Pennington as he explores Ephesians 2 to help us see that in God's plan of redemption, All the World's a Stage.

War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict
Historians tell us that out of thousands of years of recorded history, humanity has experienced only a few centuries of peace—and the Bible reveals why: the deepest wars are not merely fought between nations but within the human heart of every person. Today, as we begin exploring James 4, Pastor Tom helps us discover that the source of our quarrels, arguments, and broken relationships is far closer than we often realize. Rather than pointing the finger at others, the Bible challenges us to examine ourselves and uncover the sinful desires that fuel conflict in every area of life. Join Tom Pennington from James 4 as we consider the theme of War and Peace: Learning to Deal with Conflict.

For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God
In Matthew chapter 6, Jesus addresses the three great pillars of Jewish piety: giving, praying, and fasting. But He begins with a staggering warning against the sin of hypocrisy—practicing our righteousness before men to be noticed by them. Our Lord teaches that those who perform for the applause of the crowd have no reward from their Father in heaven. Join Tom Pennington as he considers the Sermon on the Mount and a Christian perspective on giving—For His Eyes Only: Giving to the Glory of God.

Two Gates, One Decision
How do you know if you are a true citizen of the spiritual kingdom over which our Lord Jesus Christ reigns? The answer to that question comes with eternal ramifications. Thankfully, Jesus deals with this issue towards the end of the Sermon on the Mount. It is there that Jesus provides the crowds with clear insight into who it is that has truly entered into His kingdom and who has not. But how do you know if you are in or out of His kingdom? In this series Tom Pennington answers that question by explaining the scenario that Jesus presents the crowds: Two Gates, One Decision.

The One Anothers
Relationships are a part of the residual image of God in every person. From eternity past there has always been a relationship between each person of the Trinity. So, in one sense we can say that to fail to properly relate to one another is to sin against the very character of God. Living in isolation from others is to sin against our Creator. In particular, sin against how He made us as His image bearers. In this series Tom Pennington demonstrates why Christians must be actively engaged in The "One Anothers."

The Keynote of Romans
Romans 1:16–17 establishes the theme and thesis of the book of Romans. The rest of the letter is essentially an exposition of this passage. In fact, it's not an exaggeration to say that these two verses are the essence of true, authentic Christianity—they are the heart of the biblical gospel. Simply put, what Paul explains is that the gospel is the power of God and it produces salvation in the hearts of everyone who believes. Join Tom Pennington as he identifies and explains The Keynote of Romans.

When Life's Not Fair
There are certainly times in this life when injustices happen to believers and non-believers alike. To one degree or another all people have experienced such a thing. The Bible is clear that this is a result of living in a fallen world that has been totally wrecked by sin. As Christians, when we experience situations in this life that don't seem to be fair, we must respond differently than the world. The book of James teaches that we must react to unfair situations in a godly manner. Join Tom Pennington as he explains how believers should respond When Life's Not Fair.

The Heart of Worship
The Scripture makes it clear that God cares infinitely how we worship Him. Taking it one step further, the Scripture also says that God alone has the right to prescribe how we must worship Him. That is essentially the point of the Second Commandment—people will either worship the true God in the way that He has perfectly prescribed, or they will do what is right in their own eyes and ultimately commit idolatry. How, then, can Christians be on guard against committing idolatry? Join Tom Pennington as he gets to The Heart of Worship by explaining how God desires to be worshiped.

The Church According to Jesus
The church is the only organization and institution that our Lord Jesus Christ promised to build. The Scripture is clear that it is Christ alone who builds His church. In fact, the church is Christ's greatest priority in the world today and He is deeply concerned with how His people are conducting themselves in it. But what is Christ's plan for the for the church and how should believers respond? Join Tom Pennington in Ephesians 4 as he defines The Church According to Jesus.
