A Gospel Response to Government
Romans 13: 1–7 has been a highly debated passage for individual Christians and within the local church for centuries. This controversial paragraph either directly addresses or indirectly raises many crucial issues relating to Christians and government: (1) the divine purpose for government; (2) God's sovereignty over government; (3) the validity of capital punishment; (4) reasons for a just war; (5) our responsibilities and duties to government. The Apostle Paul addresses these issues and more in this particular portion of Romans 13. Followers of Jesus Christ must engage these topics from a biblical perspective in order to apply a biblical worldview towards government. Join Tom Pennington as he walks through Romans 13 for the purpose of helping Christians develop A Gospel Response to Government.
